'Game of Thrones' season 7 air date, plot spoilers: New season to premiere June 2017; Cersei gets powerful ally
The upcoming seventh season of "Game of Thrones" will premiere a bit later than usual. Instead of its usual March or April season premiere, "Game of Thrones" Season 7 will be aired during Summer next year. However, as early as now, there are a lot of speculations surfacing online with regards to the huge battles and alliances next season.
According to the latest rumors, the new Queen of the Seven Kingdoms, Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey), will not be alone in defending her newly-acquired power and throne. The rumors are rife that the villainous queen will be teaming up with another treacherous character. He is none other than Euron Greyjoy (Pilou Asbaek), who happens to be the new ruler of the Iron Island.
Furthermore, it is rumored that Euron himself will personally reach out to Queen Cersei in King's Landing, as he is worried that his brother's children, Theon (Alfie Allen) and Yara (Gemma Whelan) Greyjoy will succeed in building an army to bring him down. To recall, Euron was successful in seizing control of the Iron Island after he killed Theon and Yara's father and former king, Balon Greyjoy. Cersei may possibly take Euron's proposal for an alliance, as she knows that being the new ruler of the Seven Kingdoms will bring her more enemies.
With this, Queen Cersei will not be easily defeated. Although, it should be expected that the battle for the Iron Throne will only get more intense, now that Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) has finally started her quest to reclaim the throne that once belonged to her family. Interestingly, Euron's enemies, Theon and Yara, have made a deal with the Mother of Dragons to help them in their quest to destroy their uncle. This will directly pit the two giant forces against each other, and the ensuing war will be unimaginable. Vanity Fair also reported that the clash of Cersei and Daenerys is inevitable, as the latter is rumored to set her camp in Dragon's Pit near King's Landing.
"Game of Thrones" season 7 premieres on June 25, 2017.
