'Game of Thrones' Movie Release Date Rumors: Will HBO Series Be Turned into Movie?
Fans of "Game of Thrones" are hotly discussing online the possibility of the TV show being turned into a movie. Should this happen, it will be the fulfillment of the dreams of many dedicated followers of HBO's globally loved TV series which features adventure and drama in every episode.
As of the moment, many viewers of the series are going through the pains of withdrawal, because "Game of Thrones" will only hit the TV screen once more in April 2015. That's why hopes are high for a movie version, assuming that something as huge as the series could actually be fitted into a movie that would run for about two hours or so.
Incidentally, such hopes were fueled by actor Charles Dance (Tywin Lannister in the series), who has been quoted in many online and offline publications that there could be a "distinct possibility" of a movie version happening.
Dance elaborated that he wasn't sure though which of the numerous storylines in the series would be used for the feature film.
Actually, Dance wasn't the only one who brought up the possibility of a "Game of Thrones" movie being made. Just as important was the statement given by book author George RR Martin last March that he has plenty of materials on the hit series for the movie-going public. Martin wrote the "Game of Thrones" books from which the series is based.
No wonder fans remain happily hopeful at seeing the warriors and dragons and more bloody action and adventure on the big screen.
But it seems such hopes will have to remain simply hopes for an indefinite period.
That's because according to HBO spokesperson Mara Mikialian, "there are no plans to do [Game of Thrones] movies."
The statement was made in reply to a question posed by The Escapist, an online magazine. Mara Mikialian is a vice president in HBO for Program Publicity, so, her pronouncements are both credible and authoritative as far as HBO's programs are concerned.
