'Game of Thrones' Mixtape Volume 2 Release Date: Free in March 2015

Rapper Big Boi does not fancy the House of Starks.

How do we know? It's because he has been rapping about "Targaryen, the rightful bloodline" in one of the tracks included in the "Game of Thrones" mixtape released by HBO.

Titled "Catch the Throne," the 10-track mix tape is full of iconic soundbites from artists like Big Boi, Common, and Snoop Dogg among others about power, sex, and yes, even dragons.

Next month, HBO is set to release "Catch the Throne: The Mixtape Vol. 2" for free online, featuring artists like Method Man, and Killswitch Engage.

"It's like the rap game. It's gangster; about family, loyalty and trying to get to the top," said Snoop Dogg in a press release, according to Entertainment Weekly.

"The network believed that nothing would be more fitting for paying musical tribute to the show's universe than a rap mixtape," the source added in its report.

Last year, HBO released its first Thrones-theme mixtape with the sixth season of "Game of Thrones" looming large.

But the hip-hop-infused "Catch The Throne" left a little to be desired, with iffy tracks coming from Common, Magazeen, and Daddy Yankee.

A report from the A.V. Club said the album only reminded the world about how everyone was obsessed with "Game of Thrones," satisfying fans with anything related to the show.

But this did not stop HBO from doing it again since it seemed to believe that "Game of Thrones" is the "Scarface" for the new generation.

Crossing genres with tracks from both Method Man and Anthrax, the second volume will "leverage themes and highlights from season four," according to a press release.

Volume 2 also attempts to weave together the themes of ice and fire, something that would enhance the mix's "exciting line-up of heavy metal and hip-hop artists," the press release said.

Anthrax's Scott Ian said in the same release that his band's contribution is "a song about the Lannister family," something that "allows us to connect more with our fans and Game Of Thrones fans in a way we never would have imagined."

A full line-up of contributors to Volume 2 of the mixtape has yet to be announced. There's no release date yet for the free mix, but HBO promises it will come out sometime in March.
