Samsung has finally unveiled its Galaxy Note 7 a week ago, putting closure to seemingly endless speculations by various online media sources months leading up to its official reveal. The 5.7-inch flagship of the Note series leaped over the entire sixth generation to be at par with its Galaxy S7 cousin released earlier this year.

The Android-powered phablet will hit the market on Aug. 19 with a price ranging from $849 to $1300. So is the price worth it?

The new Galaxy Note 7 comes with a slew of remarkable entertainment features worth considering. The Note's high dynamic range streaming technology adds a more enhanced video quality. Its Vulkan application programming interface provides an improved gaming experience. Moreover, the device is also designed to be compatible with Samsung's latest virtual reality gear.

As reported by International Business Times, Galaxy Note 7 allows users to stream videos in HDR10 format. With this highly advanced HDR streaming feature, videos can be played on a 10-bit signal of HDTV-like quality. Moreover, the phablet's Mobile Digital Natural Image Engine (mDNIe) chipset, Super AMOLED display, and 5.7-inch QHD screen give all its videos sharp and vivid quality.

For mobile gamers, the latest Note device is equipped with the Vulkan API for better gaming performance. This next-generation graphics technology supports graphic-intensive mobile Android games which can be downloaded from Google Play Store.

Like the earlier flagship Galaxy models, Galaxy Note 7 is also compatible with Samsung's latest VR headset which can be pre-ordered for $99.99. The new VR accessory also offers users a 360-degree view plus the ability to create 360 content that can be shared on a number of social media and video-sharing platforms like Facebook and YouTube. Other notable accessories also include fitness-oriented "Gear fit 2" watch, wireless pads and stands, and wireless Bluetooth earphones, USA Today reported.

Meanwhile, Samsung also adds another bonus treat to Note 7 users, a pleasing news to mobile gamers. As reported by Gizmodo, $400 worth of games on Google Play Store can be downloaded for free by any buyer who will purchase the massive smartphone prior to January next year. The games include "Asphalt 8: Airborne," "Empire: Four Kingdoms," and "Olympus Rising," to name a few.

A number of online media outfits have reported on iPhone 7's rumored features and specs. If these reports prove accurate, the smartphone maker may introduce wireless earphones that come with the latest addition to the iPhone lineup. A Bluetooth-based accessory is highly expected, some tech observers say. After all, Samsung has earlier unveiled its wireless earbuds. Other smartphone makers are expected to follow suit. As reported by Fortune, the American tech firm has been working on the said accessory using a custom-designed Bluetooth chip for wireless transmission of sound.

Previous rumors indicate that Apple mulls on getting rid of the headphone jack as it tries to insert dual speakers on the bottom. This significant departure from iPhone's traditional design would need another type of wired headphone or wireless earphones powered by Bluetooth.

Meanwhile, some tech pundits believe that Apple is set to face supply shortages for the device's 5.5-inch variant known as iPhone 7 Plus once the company officially unveils its upcoming phablet flagship this September. As reported by Apple Insider, the demand for iPhone 7's larger sibling is predicted to increase with consumers' growing preference for bigger displays.

Moreover, the predicted supply constraints may also be caused by iPhone 7 Plus' dual-lens camera feature with a DSLR-like capability. This isn't the first time Apple struggled to match the strong market demand for products at the time of launch. For example, Apple Watch was in limited supply following its 2015 release in spring. Similarly, the company also failed to anticipate the huge demand for its entry-level handset called the iPhone SE.
