Manny Pacquiao vs Floyd Mayweather Fight: Pacman Goes Gaga In Ad

At last, Floyd Mayweather, Jr. has "agreed" to fight Manny Pacquiao – but, unfortunately, only in a new commercial featuring the Filipino boxing hero.

Released on YouTube on Thursday, the made-for-TV commercial for the U.S. sportswear and footwear retailer Foot Locker shows Pacquiao atop the boxing ring while two guys talk about Foot Locker's "Week of Greatness" sale in which the company sells new releases from all the top sporting brands.

When one of the two guys says he was happy that Foot Locker is finally giving what the people want, Pacquiao reacts, thinking that the two were talking about the biggest boxing bout of all time that has yet to happen -- the Pacman vs. Floyd fight. Pacquiao goes gaga, thinking that Mayweather has finally agreed to fight him. Watch the video here:

The Pacman commercial was the latest version of the Foot Locker "Week of Greatness" TV ads. Previous commercials featured NBA stars Tim Duncan, Derrick Rose, and James Harden, and WWE wrestler John Cena.

Meanwhile, just days before he goes up the ring on Sunday in Macau to fight unbeaten Chris Algieri, Pacquiao wass forced to comment yet again on the possibility that his next fight in 2015 will be against Mayweather.

Replying to a reporter's question, the 35-year-old Filipino boxer replied: "I'm a boxer. I'm willing to fight anybody. I'm not ducking anyone."

"As long as I'm still in boxing, and as long as he [Mayweather] is still in boxing, then there's always a chance for that [fight]," said Pacquiao, who stakes his World Boxing Organization (WBO) welterweight title Sunday noon at the Cotai Arena against the young American challenger Algieri.

Mayweather actually was the first one to hint that the Pacquiao fight is shaping up when he was asked about it during his rematch with Marcos Maidana two months ago. During a ringside interview after winning the match, Mayweather told millions of watching fans that it's all up to Pacquiao "to do it."

When Pacquiao was reminded about this, he laughed, saying "that's Mayweather. Sometimes, he's good weather, sometimes he's bad weather," eliciting laughter from the media.

Earlier, Top Rank CEO and boxing promoter Bob Arum said that he is more optimistic now that a Mayweather- Pacquiao mega-fight will happen soon, disclosing that the concerned TV networks are already discussing a possible broadcast collaboration.

Mayweather has a six-fight deal with Showtime, a subsidiary of CBS, while Pacquiao is under contract with HBO.

"The networks are already talking," Arum said. "I am now more optimistic that the fight is going to happen than I was three or four years ago."

Arum said he's eyeing Cowboys Stadium in Dallas, Texas, as the venue of the fight.
