News about the "Five Nights at Freddy's" movie has been scarce ever since it was announced last year, which is starting to worry fans.

According to the latest reports, the development of the film was temporarily put on hold because of the production of the "Five Nights at Freddy's: Sister Location."

Scott Cawthon, the developer of the game, will be very much involved in the movie based on his hit horror survival video game franchise.

However, reports have it that the production of "Sister Location" has hindered the progress of the "Five Nights at Freddy's" movie.

Early this year, it was confirmed that the team behind the film was still in the scriptwriting process with Cawthon himself seeing a great direction the film is going towards.

After that, no more updates have been heard about the game, leading many to believe that development might have been in trouble.

So far, there are no indications of that coming from the team behind "Five Nights at Freddy's" movie, which they have grand ambitions for.

As revealed before, the animatronics will not be computer-generated, but will instead be made by Jim Henson's Creature Shop.

However, it appears that Cawthon and the team are focused on whipping up a brilliant story for the "Five Nights at Freddy's" movie although the developer has already said that this should not be an issue.

"The story really lends itself to being a movie, and it taps into a largely unexplored niche of horror that a lot of people will be able to relate to," Cawthon told The Hollywood Reporter when it was first announced.

"We're looking forward to working with Scott to make an insane, terrifying and weirdly adorable movie," Seth Grahame-Smith, who will be the director for the Five Nights at Freddy's" movie, said in the same THR article.

The "Five Nights at Freddy's" movie is expected to be released in 2018 at the earliest.
