Fans of the "Final Fantasy" franchise have been clamoring for an updated version of "Final Fantasy 7," and the good news is, they are going to get it. Reports say that the updated game will be released sometime around March 2017, and the game will allow users to use one of the most popular characters in the franchise once more, Cloud Strife.

Reports claim that the game will allow players to take control of either Cloud Strife or the Avalanche Brothers. The game will also have an updated fighting mechanic, which mixes elements of real-time combat and strategy. The gameplay is also said to be somewhat parallel to games like "Devil May Cry" and "Kingdom Hearts," the latter being a game that was heavily influenced by the "Final Fantasy" franchise.

It's also interesting to note that the game will not just be an updated version of "Final Fantasy 7." In an interview with Game Informer, the producer of the "Final Fantasy 7" remake, Yoshinori Kitase, sheds some light on what Square Enix has planned for the game. He says, "We have archived versions of our games, and when people play them, it usually starts off with nostalgia since they are basically following the story they already know ... In that sense, we want to balance the areas we would change and what will remain to invoke nostalgia while also incorporating the surprises."

So even if fans will be stepping into a story that they already know, the game will still come with a few surprises up its sleeve. It's sure to be one nostalgic and visual treat for every fan of the "Final Fantasy" franchise.

The developers are also said to adjust the graphics so that the remake will have visuals that are at par with "Advent Children."

The "Final Fantasy 7" remake is rumored to be launched in March of 2017.
