'Final Fantasy 7' remake release date news update: First episode to be released March 2017?

There is not much information regarding the planned remake of the classic video game from Square Enix, "Final Fantasy 7." Many fans find the seventh installment in the highly successful "Final Fantasy" franchise very memorable, so it is not surprising that the Japanese game studio decides to recreate the game title with a modern touch.

While Square Enix confirmed the plans for the "Final Fantasy 7" remake, there are no confirmed details yet regarding the contents of the game and its initial release date. Nevertheless, the rumors are rife that the remake will be out next year. To note, the company has cited the possibility of the "Final Fantasy 7" remake having an episodic release, possibly becoming a three-part game saga. The first part of the three-episode remake is rumored to be released March 2017.

According to Yibada, there are now ongoing speculations that the first part of the remake will arrive early next year. The rumors began when a Reddit user named MajorBlaze1 revealed that Amazon has allegedly confirmed his pre-order details for the "Final Fantasy 7" remake. In the supposed e-mail from Amazon, it was stated that the game will be out on Dec. 29, 2017. 

For some fans, this would make sense as it seems impossible that Square Enix will be able to release the remake later this year. The December 29 release date, however, could also be a placeholder, which means that it can be pushed back or adjusted earlier. It is possible that it may be delayed to 2018, but likewise, there is a chance that it will be released in an earlier date. Game N Guide  reported that the first episode of the "Final Fantasy 7" remake could be out as early as March 2017.

Earlier, "Final Fantasy" game producer Yoshinori Kitase stated that Square Enix will follow the episodic style of release for the upcoming video game remake, similar to the previous installments in the franchise. He also compared the anticipated episodic release of the "Final Fantasy 7" remake with "Final Fantasy XIII," where each part of the whole game will be a full-scale game of its own. Each episode of the whole game stage will have its own narrative told in a different perspective,  Game Informer reported.
