'Fallout 4' PS4 mods release date: Feature still on the table
Despite the canceled launch of the mods for the PlayStation 4 version of "Fallout 4," gamers are still hoping that the feature will see the light of day.
Bethesda Softworks hopes for this as well. The studio is not happy about the decision of Sony not to push out the mods to the console despite the work and effort done to put them together.
This is what the company's vice president for public relations and marketing Pete Hines promises to fans on Twitter. In an exchange with one, he said that Bethesda is still looking for possible ways to roll out the "Fallout 4" PS4 mods.
"I assure you we don't lack for alternatives. We are trying to do the most possible for PS4 players," Hines replied to a fan who told them that there are still ways to release the feature.
He also clarified that Bethesda does not have an exclusivity deal with Microsoft, which fans are starting to think since the Xbox One was the only platform that received the mods.
"That is absolutely not true. We would have released mods on PS4 some time ago if it was up to us. We were told no," the Bethesda executive explained.
Hines also said in the past that Bethesda is doing its best to somehow release the "Fallout 4" PS4 mods in some capacity. "We can't get into specifics. We still want to get mod support of some kind out on PS4," he tweeted to a fan.
Sony did not approve the release of the feature to the PS4 "the way they should work." Bethesda has vowed to do their best to still bring the mods to players of the console.
However, this does not mean that the "Fallout 4" PS4 mods will be released. At the moment, PS4 gamers will have to be patient as they wait for what Bethesda can do.
