It looks like PlayStation 4 (PS4) players of "Fallout 4" should not expect much with regard to the mods available on the platform.

Bethesda Game Studios vice president for marketing and public relations Pete Hines said that it is not their call to bring internal assets and anything else involving mods.

"It isn't up to us. We tried. It was rejected. I have no info. Really appreciate it if folks would stop asking me," Hines wrote on Twitter in response to a fan.

The mods feature for PS4 was almost canceled as Sony did not want to get them out the way they work, which is basically giving fans the chance to do everything they want in the game. Sony and Bethesda managed to find a middle ground and strike a deal in the end, although the mods were limited to the PS4 platform, unlike those for the Xbox One. The collaborators were adamant in saying that as far as mods go, this is the breadth they could offer and it looks like they are keeping their word. Hines also points out that no more downloadable content (DLC) for "Fallout 4" is coming. The same goes for the "Skyrim Special Edition." The Bethesda executive said that "the studio has moved on to new projects."

What they have planned for "Fallout 4," however, is a virtual reality (VR) version of not just a segment of the game, but the entirety of it.

Bethesda director and executive producer Todd Howard said in an interview with Glixel last month that they are "definitely" considering bringing the complete "Fallout 4" to VR.

"That's the promise of VR, being in a big virtual world. The core experience, meaning you put on the headset and you're standing in the world of Fallout and can go where you want, just that little bit is every bit as cool as you hope it would be," he explained.
