'Fallout 4' mods release date, news and updates: Bethesda announces mods coming to the PS4
The release of the PS4 Pro has brought a whole new light to the console gaming community as Bethesda announced that it will be allowing mods for the PS4 version of "Fallout 4."
In a tweet posted by the official "Fallout" account, the company said, "Our next title update for [Fallout4] will add PS4 Mod Support. We expect it to release this month. Stay tuned for updates." This will come as good news to the fans, especially after Bethesda said that Sony was placing restrictions on mod support for the PS4 two months ago.
Back then, Bethesda had this to say in an official statement: "After months of discussion with Sony, we regret to say that while we have long been ready to offer mod support on PlayStation 4, Sony has informed us they will not approve user mods the way they should work: where users can do anything they want for either 'Fallout 4' or 'Skyrim Special Edition.'"
There haven't been any details released as to the deal that Bethesda has brokered with Sony. Fans are now speculating on why Sony finally allowed mod support for the PS4. Some guess that it could be a move to boost sales for "Skyrim Remastered" or Sony may have let Bethesda release the mods, but only on a special condition.
Nevertheless, fan reaction has been positive. Mod support used to be exclusive for only console gamers, and Xbox was said to have already allowed mods on their version of "Fallout 4."
As for the release date of the mods, some guess that this deal was just recently met by Sony and Bethesda, so as of now, the company has nothing prepared to release. However, based on the tweet, "Fallout 4" gamers may just get their first mod later this month.
