Emma Stone, Andrew Garfield relationship news: Are they dating or aren't they?
For a celebrity ex-couple who has been private about their past relationship, a little friendly date in London can really go a long way into fueling speculations about a possible romantic reunion. But are Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone really back together?
Garfield and Stone met on the set of the 2010 movie "The Amazing Spider-Man" and ended up dating for four years until their eventual break-up in October 2015. This devastated their fans and friends alike. However, recent rumors claimed that the ex-lovers are back together and are even planning on taking their reconciliation public if the two of them get nominated for an Oscar next year.
Stone plays an up-and-coming actress in the musical movie "La La Land," for which she has already won the Volpi Cup for Best Actress at the 73rd Venice International Film Festival held earlier this year from Aug. 31 to Sept. 10. Meanwhile, Garfield stars in two different movies helmed by two award-winning directors: "Hacksaw Ridge" by Mel Gibson and "Silence" by Martin Scorsese. These roles have reportedly made him a contender for a nomination in next year's Academy awards.
It is not clear whether claims of the ex-couple's reconciliation and plans of going public are legitimate or not. An earlier report on the Sept. 12 issue of Star magazine speculated that Stone and Garfield may be thinking of giving their relationship another shot after they were spotted spending the day together in London, England last Aug. 21.
A source has also allegedly shared with the publication that the ex-couple may not officially be back together but they are "on the mend." However, although Stone may not be opposed to an eventual reconciliation, she's worried that their intense schedules may get in the way. The unnamed source also claimed that Garfield was adamant and that he's willing to do anything to make things work this time around.
In a cover interview with Vogue earlier in October, Stone referred to her former flame as "Someone I still love very much." She claimed that they have indeed already called it quits in 2015.
"It's been interesting," she said, describing that part of her life. "It's been a good year. And sad. Pros and cons," she added.
Whatever the present and the future holds for these ex-lovers turned friends, who have always been private about their lives, is a truth that only they can know and thus confirm if and when they choose.
