After the big reveal of the new "Dragon Ball Super" story arc at the Jump Festa 2016 in Japan, Toei Animation has released the preview for the "Universe Survival" arc.

The trailer relives the explosive battles between friends and foes from the show's past story arcs including the "Future Trunks" arc, with Future Trunks and Zamasu going toe to toe.

It then moves on to tease what's next for "Dragon Ball Super," which is the return of Omni-King to break the news about a massive tournament that encompasses all 12 universes under his rule.

Omni-King is a fan of tournaments as shown early on in the series, where he revealed that he has enjoyed the Universe 6 vs. Universe 7 tournament.

In fact, it inspired him to organize his own battle tourney, which results in this inter-universe martial arts tournament, where the finest from the universes are brought together for epic showdowns.

"Each universe has 10 representatives. Losing universes are immediately annihilated. The ultimate martial arts tournament begins, with the survival of their own universes on the line," the new "Dragon Ball Super" arc is described.

The official synopsis for it is as follows:

"At Goku's request, the Omni-Kings' "Tournament of Power" martial arts tournament between universes now begins!... But this also proves to be the beginning of universal destruction. What awaits the victors of this tournament, and the vanquished...?! How will these intense team battles between the elites of each universe turn out...?!"

From the looks of it, this tournament will end with major destruction and ruin so fighters will have to give their all if they do not want their home to be blown to smithereens.

The new "Universe Survival" arc for "Dragon Ball Super" will begin on Sunday, Feb. 5, 2017. The anime will return with episode 72, "Can You Counter Attack? An invisible assassination technique!" on Christmas Day.
