Dragon Age Inquisition Jaws of Hakkon DLC PS4, PS3, Xbox 360 Release Date Scheduled for May 26
The first expansion pack for "Dragon Age: Inquisition," titled "Jaws of Hakkon," is already out on the Xbox One following its release last March 31. On May 26, the DLC will likewise land on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
When it was announced last March that the DLC would only be released on the Xbox One, many gamers were not pleased and started pressing the developer BioWare to come up with versions of the game for PlayStation 4 and older generation consoles. BioWare executive producer Mark Darrah responded by saying that the DLC would definitely come to the PS4 later. However, he could not provide a specific date because BioWare's parent company, Electronic Arts, had an exclusivity agreement with Microsoft which prevented him from doing so.
Exclusivity agreements are increasingly being employed by Microsoft. The software major is expected to enter into more such exclusivity deals in the future.
Microsoft has also reportedly drawn up an exclusivity agreement with Activision so that all DLC content for the "Call of Duty" game series will release first on the Xbox One console before it is made available to other consoles.
"Jaws of Hakkon" received positive reviews when it was released in March. However, many reviewers were quick to state that it did not feel as substantial as the main game when it came to the story.
Nevertheless, the reviewers said the game did offer many other popular elements in "Dragon Age: Inquisition," which was released last year. GameSpot said the game gives a player a "sense of wonder, thematic richness, and a fantastic sense of place and personality."
Since its release in November 2014, "Dragon Age: Inquisition" has been reaping big money for BioWare and Electronic Arts, outselling other titles created by the developer.
