Divergent 2 Trailer Release Date Arrives: Insurgent Movie Teaser Video Excites Fans
Actress Shailene Woodley became popular after her acting stint as the sweet yet strong-willed small-town girl Amy Juergens in the TV series "The Secret Life of the American Teenager," which ran from 2008 to 2013.
But now, it's a totally different world that Juergens finds herself in as she stars in "The Divergent Series: Insurgent."
The movie's first teaser trailer has been released several months ahead of the film's scheduled theatrical showing on March 20, 2015. The early release of "The Divergent Series: Insurgent" trailer serves the purpose of creating advance interest in the continuing adventures of Tris (Shailene Woodley), one of the leads in the movie.
In the first instalment of the Divergent franchise, moviegoers were introduced to a frightening version of the future where Tris realizes that she is "divergent" or very unlike the rest of humanity, and is unable to fit in. Tris finds out that the world at large considers divergents as being a threat, and thus, need to be destroyed.
In "Insurgent," the franchise's second instalment, the levels of danger have been raised much higher. Hints of the dangerous situations Tris will have to face are revealed in the trailer titled "Defy Reality."
Lionsgate is clearly going all out on the use of CGI as proven in the trailer which shows a whole house bursting into flames just as Tris sees her mother (Ashley Judd) coming out of it. The house then gets blown off, buildings crumble all around, and Tris has to exert nearly superhuman effort to try and save her mother.
But how could Tris do that when her mother already died in the first instalment? Is the teaser all about a fantastic sci-fi CGI-driven dream? Fans have until March 20 next year to figure the whole thing out.
