'Diablo III' Patch 2.2 Release Date News: Bonus Gold to Celebrate 'Reaper of Souls' Anniversary
"Reaper of Souls," the first expansion for "Diablo III," celebrates its first anniversary this week.
To mark the occasion, video game developer and publisher Blizzard Entertainment, Inc. has prepared a special treat for the game's loyal players.
The company has announced a special event for players in which they can get bonus gold and experience. For one entire week, "Diablo III" gamers can enjoy a 100 percent increase to Gold Fund and experience, Inquisitr reported on Monday.
"No one can stop Death... from having his cake and eating it, too!" wrote The Diablo III Team in the game's official website. "To celebrate one year of Reaper of Souls (and the community who continues to support us), all heroes who log in to Diablo III this week on any platform will receive a +100% bonus to Gold Find and EXP!"
"We've been dying to share this buff with you, and we hope you're as excited as we are for the coming year. Thanks for defending Sanctuary, nephalem, and remember: Death was just the beginning!"
The team behind the game also explained that such perks will be piled on with other bonuses. "As with previous buffs, the bonuses provided will stack multiplicatively with existing in-game bonuses, including those provided by items, Shrines, Pools of Reflection, and Paragon points," the Diablo III Team said.
Players from both the PC and console platforms can enjoy the extra gold and experience during the limited time. However, Blizzard's birthday blowout buff will only be available on console for Ultimate Evil Edition.
This bonus Gold Find and Experience period starts in the Americas on Monday, March 23, at 12 a.m. PDT. Players will have to hurry as the buff will only last until the next Monday, March 30, at 11:59 p.m. PDT.
For PC players, the buff will start and end at the said times in each gameplay region. It will be different for those who play the game via console as the buff will start and end in all regions at the same time.
More good things are set to come in the near future as Season 2 will end on April 5 in all regions to make way for the next, which will begin on April 10, wrote Inquisitr. With the start of a new season comes new achievements and legendary items.
Players will likely see a game update with patch 2.2 content, which will be available on April 7, based on a Twitter post by the senior technical game designer of "Diablo III," the Inquisitr reported.
