Dell XPS 15 release date, specs rumors: GTX 1050-powered refresh now out
The Moto X 2017 has been making the headlines for quite a while now as leaks and details about it continue to flood the web. It turns out the device might not be on the way just yet.
Live images of a prototype of a smartphone that shares the design of the Moto X 2017 were posted by someone from Romania. However, the user referred to it as the Moto G5 Plus.
The look of the device is identical to the one on the renders and the images that hit the web in the past. However, the consensus was that it was the Moto X 2017 while one report stated it is a device called the Moto C.
However, many are convinced it is indeed the Moto G5 Plus. The same source shared the list of specifications and features of the device. It will reportedly sport a 5.5-inch Full HD display and will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor.
More on the Moto X 2017 lookalike's insides, the random-access memory (RAM) will be at 4 GB of RAM with 32 GB storage space. The Moto G4 Plus, while it came with 4 GB RAM, this memory was paired with 64 GB storage.
Based on the leakster, the camera department of the Moto G5 Plus will be composed of a 13-megapixel (MP) camera on the back and a 5 MP selfie snapper on the front, which is the same as that of the Moto G4 Plus.
Interestingly, its predecessor, should the handset on the photos really is a Moto G device and not the Moto X 2017, the primary camera is a downgrade from the previous iteration's 16MP shooter.
Another feature highlighted in the post is that the Moto G5 Plus has a fingerprint sensor right beneath the display. It appears to have Android 7.0 Nougat pre-installed, too.
The Moto G5 Plus is also expected to arrive this March, which has many hoping that it will be unveiled at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017 in Barcelona next month.
