'Dead Rising 4' DLC features protagonist as a zombie

Photos and footage for the new downloadable content (DLC) of "Dead Rising 4" have confirmed fans' fears: Frank West is now a zombie.

Frank, a photojournalist who was the protagonist of "Dead Rising" and "Dead Rising 4," chose to sacrifice himself at the end of the latter game in order to allow Brad and Vick to escape. In the new single-player DLC, titled "Dead Rising 4: Frank Rising," he joins the legion of undead in Willamette.

However, there is still hope. According to Capcom Unity, he will meet an unlikely ally in this DLC who can actually help him regain his humanity. However, he will need to race against time to find the cure before the virus takes over his body completely.

Players will be controlling Frank as he finds his way around the town to look for the cure. The only good thing about turning into a zombie is that he now gets new abilities and more strength, which he will need in order to find the treatment. The downside is that, as a zombie, he will need to feed in order to stay alive, and the only available meal for him are the other members of the horde.

Another upcoming "Dead Rising 4" DLC is titled "Super Ultra Dead Rising 4 Mini Golf." Players will putt their way amidst a town filled with undead. This DLC can be played on single-player, multi-player, and co-op modes. Gamers can unlock different types of golf clubs, costumes, and balls, and they can also collect various power-ups in this mini-game.

"Dead Rising 4: Frank Rising" will be released on April 4 on Xbox One and Windows 10 PC, and on April 11 on Steam. "Super Ultra Dead Rising 4 Mini Golf" has no launch date announced yet. These are already bundled with the Season Pass, although players can also purchase each DLC separately for $9.99.
