'Dark Souls 3' DLC release date, rumors: 'Ashes of Ariandel' to open new world for players
The hit action adventure role-playing game (RPG) "Dark Souls 3" has been around for a few months already, and it is high time for Bandai Namco to release the first downloadable content pack (DLC) for the game. It was revealed that the upcoming expansion for "Dark Souls 3" will arrive this October, featuring a new dark world and enemies.
"Dark Souls 3" will be getting its first ever DLC pack next month, which will be showcasing a new map location for the players to explore. According to Movie News Guide, the new expansion set is called "Ashes of Ariandel," which will be centered on a mysterious and corrupted land of Ariandel. It has its dark secrets and stories that the players need to unravel in order to understand how Ariandel ended up as a cursed land.
As expected, the new Ariendel map also includes new enemy units that the players will have to face upon the DLC's release next month. Moreover, "Ashes of Ariandel" will be providing new armor sets and fresh magical skills that the players can use to fight the new enemies. They can discover the new magic and experiment on it to be effective in combat. The additional contents from the expansion pack will also be applied to the game's competitive multiplayer mode.
IGN reported that the players will be challenged by the new adversaries featured in Ariandel. Specifically, there will be a new powerful boss that is similar to the Crow Demon.
Bandai Namco has recently released the new teaser video for "Dark Souls 3: Ashes of Ariandel." Game N Guide reported the footage of the player character venturing a frozen area, unknowing of the dark creatures awaiting him on the other side of the land. The trailer is filled with action and suspense as the protagonist fights until the end to defeat the enemies.
"Dark Souls 3: Ashes of Ariandel" will be available in October at $14.99.
