Mark those calendars for Aug. 24! According to people behind the "Dark Souls 3" franchise, a special announcement will be made on that day, and fans are hoping it has something to do with the downloadable content (DLC) promised as far back as June.

Bandai Namco, game developer behind "Dark Souls 3," has confirmed that there are two DLCs expected to come out this year, one around autumn and the other one at a much later date. "Dark Souls 3" is the latest installment of the action role-playing video game series "Dark Souls" developed by FromSoftware.

Very little is said about the DLCs, although a $25 Season Pass surfaced on the Xbox Store back in February, which apparently gave some people access to several features of the DLCs like new enemies, weapons, armors, bosses and additional locations.

It was earlier speculated that further details about the DLCs will be served during the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) held last June. Much hype has been attributed to the "Dark Souls 3" franchise especially after it raked in $45 million in its first month of release. It's no wonder fans are excited over the soon-to-be-released DLCs.

Now it seems like the long wait is over, at least for one of the two DLCs. On Wednesday, the official Twitter account of "Dark Souls" posted a teaser poster calling out to the "Ashen Ones," the main protagonist of "Dark Souls 3." Check out the tweet below.

GameSpot noted that this will be the first major DLC release for "Dark Souls 3." Since it has been previously announced that the first DLC will be out by fall, the announcement set for August 24 could confirm an official release date for the DLC.

In related news, several concept arts said to be part of the upcoming DLC were leaked online, according to Segment Next. Different environments can be seen in the images, as well as what looks like an isolated castled and a ruined city. Some demonic creatures, from flaming horses to hellhound-like monsters, were also depicted in the images. In addition, different enemies and armors were shown.

Fans are hoping the coming announcement will provide definite details on the release of the "Dark Souls 3" DLCs.
