For the past NFL season, trade rumors surrounding Tony Romo have continued to surface after having been dethroned as the Dallas Cowboys' main quarterback after the emergence of rookie Dak Prescott as the team's new star.

With Dak Prescott leading the Dallas team to set the best record in the NFC in the 2016 NFL season, rumors have grown louder, suggesting that Romo will need to be released or traded to another team.

According to The Inquisitr, among the teams that Romo could transfer to are the Houston Texans, the Denver Broncos, and the Arizona Cardinals.

Among the three teams, only the Texans were involved in the postseason, and Brock Osweiler is reportedly not the best option to be their quarterback. Romo has also previously shared he would like to play for Denver and replace Peyton Manning. The Cardinals are also a good team to transfer to depending on their possible personnel changes.

There are also teams that require major improvements in their lineup such as the New York Jets, the Chicago Bears, the San Francisco 49ers, and the Cleveland Browns.

Romo getting traded to another team is not completely impossible, especially with projected overall 2017 NFL Draft pick Myles Garrett previously expressing his intention to play for the Dallas Cowboys.

In a video posted by ESPN, the former Texas A&M defensive end pleaded for the Cowboys owner Jerry Jones to trade with the Cleveland Browns — who own the No. 1 selection in the upcoming draft — to acquire him.

"I'm speaking to you, Jerry. Mr. [head coach Jason] Garrett, make it happen," Garrett said. "Dak Prescott is leading our team right now. I need you to take Tony Romo, take a couple picks and give 'em to Cleveland so you can pick me up, please. I'd love to play in Dallas. Just make it happen," he added.

Although Garrett's plea is a bit ambitious, it is worth noting that the Browns have, in the past, willingly traded members of their team in exchange for coveted picks.

However, Garrett eventually retracted his earlier statements and went on to say that he would be happy to play for the Browns, according to Bleacher Report.
