Since the last major update for "Clash of Clans" was released a few months ago, players have been wondering if it is time for another one to come along. Well, an update is indeed being planned for December. Developer Supercell has released a statement confirming that there is definitely an update coming this month. It also announced that it is putting its developer question-and-answer (Q&A) section on hold until mid- to late January so the development team could concentrate on the coming updates.

Furthermore, Supercell has revealed that it is aiming to release the update the week of Dec. 19–23. AllClash has noted that the company has a Christmas break. So, hopefully, they can really finish the update on that week.

So, what can players expect from the December update? The developers have revealed that there are going to be new upgrade levels and new content in the update; however, Supercell did not divulge any more details regarding these additions to the game.

"Clash of Clans" is also going to undergo another round of balancing changes, and Supercell's Anoushka talked specifically about the balance for Town Hall 10 and Town Hall 11.

"We are not considering the idea of bringing the Grand Warden to TH10 as we want to keep TH10 gameplay distinct from TH11 gameplay, and feel bringing the GW to TH10 would blur that line too much," he said.

Meanwhile, here's an interesting tidbit. Reports say the upcoming update may introduce a "free gem trial period," which will allow players to get the valuable resources without paying anything upfront. This may sound good, but is it feasible for Supercell? After all, the company makes money by selling gems in-game. But sources did say that this event would last for only five days. It should be noted that this hasn't been verified yet, so readers are advised to take this with a pinch of salt.
