'Castle' Season 7 Spoilers: Rick Becomes a Private Investigator After Getting Booted From NYPD
When "Castle" Season 7 comes back on our screens this Jan. 12 on ABC, we will no longer be seeing Kate Beckett (Stana Katic) and Richard Castle (Nathan Fillion) working together.
Before this crime drama went on a holiday hiatus, we saw Richard getting kicked out of the NYPD for being involved in the "Bad Santa" case. Kate doesn't know about it yet because Richard didn't want to spoil her Christmas. However, she will soon find out about it during the first episode this January.
Castle will be dealing with several complicated situations while he works alone, without the police to back him up. Castle will have to sneak an autopsy file just to get through with his next case. Unfortunately, he won't be too successful on his quest.
Going ahead into Episode 12 entitled "Private Eye Carambal," which is set to air on Jan. 19, we will be seeing Kate and her team trying to catch the one responsible for the murder of a Latina actress. Without Richard to help her, Kate and her team will be able to clear an intriguing case that involves the actress.
Meanwhile, Rick will be working as a private investigator, which was explained by David Amann, showrunner for "Castle" in an interview with TV Guide. "We thought it would give us some opportunities to upset the apple cart a little bit in terms of the Castle-Beckett professional relationship. We were looking for an interesting way to have Castle get into trouble. He kind of operated outside the lines in Episode 10, so we felt that like it was justified that he would be punished for that," he said.
It looks like things will become even more difficult for both Kate and Rick as they work with each other's help.
