Tough times are ahead for Naruto Uzumaki's son, Boruto when "Boruto: Naruto the Next Generations" rolls out its fifth chapter this month.

The manga series follows the storyline of the 2015 "Naruto" spin-off movie, "Boruto: Naruto the Movie," and promises to eventually pick up where the movie has left off. And since the fourth chapter titled, "You Damn Geezer...!!" depicted events that were still in the movie, it could mean that the fifth chapter would be about the surprise attack on the Konoha stadium that culminates to the abduction of Naruto by Kinshiki and Momoshiki Otsusuki.

The Otsutsuki brothers aim to extract the Kurama from Naruto in order to use its chakra for their own advantage. Aside from this, they also want to recover Kaguya's chakra to gain both eternal youth and supernatural powers. This will prompt Sasuke to realize that the Otsutuski brothers were the greater threat foretold in Kaguya's scroll.

A fight will ensue, but Naruto's Kurama and Sasuke's Susanoo will not be enough to stop their opponents from fulfilling their mission. Boruto, who loses consciousness during the battle, will wake up to find his father gone and his mother, Hinata, hospitalized for her failed attempt to save her husband. And after seeing his father's impressive fighting skills for the first time in the stadium and also having realized the error of his ways, the young Uzumaki will put on his father's old orange jacket and will set out with Sasuke and the other Kage in a rescue mission to bring Konoha's seventh Hokage back.

This was how it panned out in "Boruto: Naruto the Movie." And since the earlier chapters have more or less followed the events in the movie, the next chapter may not be any different. However, these are all just speculations and should never be taken as gospel truth.

Meanwhile, "Boruto: Naruto the Next Generations" may finally be getting an anime adaptation. Kotaku reported that the Jump Special Anime Festa has just added "Boruto" in the list of anime that will be screened during the event happening on Nov. 27 to Dec. 4 in Tokyo, Sapporo, Osaka, Fukuoka, and Nagoya.

The advertisement's tagline reads, "Watch next-generation ninja!!" with TV Tokyo and Pierrot both credited on the promotional image.

While the site does warn that contents may change at any time, "Boruto" fans are hoping that the upcoming anime event will finally see Naruto's son and his friends make their much-anticipated debut on the small screen.
