"Better Call Saul" season 3 is almost here, and fans of the critically acclaimed prequel to "Breaking Bad" can hardly wait to see the eventual devolution of Jimmy McGill (Bob Odenkirk) into Albuquerque's most notorious criminal lawyer, Saul Goodman.

"Better Call Saul" chronicles Jimmy's life as a, more or less, law-abiding, small-time attorney, championing his underdog clients as he gradually builds a name for himself. However, this only lasts until he meets Walter White (Bryan Cranston). According to the official synopsis, the upcoming season will be revealing the twists and turns in Jimmy's life that eventually led him to his "Breaking Bad" persona.

In the cliffhanger ending of the second season, Jimmy's brother, Chuck (Michael McKean), made a bid to prevent the former from practicing law by secretly recording Jimmy's confession to a past felony. This scheme will have dire consequences for both Jimmy and Kim's (Rhea Seehorn) romance and their fledgling careers in law. This will then trigger Jimmy's faltering moral compass to its very limits.

Meanwhile, Mike (Jonathan Banks) is on the hunt for a mysterious adversary who seems to know too much about his business. His failure to pull the trigger on sociopathic cartel boss Hector Salamanca in the previous season has also left fans wondering if there are perhaps other more dangerous players involved.

The upcoming season will also be introducing new characters while further illuminating character backstories with meaningful references to "Breaking Bad."

Gus Fring's Giancarlo Esposito will also be introduced as a businessman who owns a fast food restaurant and a laundry facility — both of which will eventually serve as fronts for a huge drug operation. Along with Jimmy's devolution, Giancarlo's journey from being an initially legitimate businessman into a drug dealer will also be explored.

"Better Call Saul" season 3 premieres on Monday, April 10, at 10 p.m. ET on AMC.
