'Beauty and the Beast' season 4 finale plot recap: Did Vincent and Cat die in series finale?

The series finale of The CW's "Beauty and the Beast" aired last Thursday, capping a four-year run. There are rumors the series ended on a sad note, at least where ratings are concerned.

Season 4 finale titled "Au Revoir" saw Vincent (Jay Ryan) and Catherine (Kristin Kreuk) trying to prevent Braxton from bombing a crown prince who happens to be the final cabal member and to take down Braxton so he could stop manufacturing beasts once and for all.

VinCat said their goodbyes to their friends and loved ones, and although they weren't prepared for it, the couple had to do the inevitable if only to stop the further production of beasts like Vincent. Their plan was to be the ones inside the car that will eventually explode and save the crown prince and his staff.

Their friends watched in horror as the car exploded, thinking Vincent and Cat were inside, but no. They weren't. Thanks to Vincent's "blurring" powers, they were able to get off the car before it exploded, although it seemed their friends didn't know about it. After all, the two were given proper funeral rites by Tess (Nina Lisandrello), J.T. (Austin Basis), and Heather (Nicole Gale Anderson).

After a few months, there was a scene showing Vincent and Cat enjoying a carriage ride in Paris. They were on their way to a café where apparently, Vincent had an anniversary surprise for his wife. It turned out Tess, J.T. and Heather were waiting for them in the café ready to celebrate with them.

However, after a mild catching up, the husband and wife team were seen dashing out the door of the café, this time to stop a random purse snatching. So it seems beast or not, the two will never be away from exciting adventures.

That capped the four-season run of "Beauty and the Beast," whose stars, like Lisandrello, took to Twitter to thank the fans and viewers for four wonderful seasons.
