'Battlefield 1' cheats, tips & tricks: How to make the most of Argonne Forest map and multiplayer mode
In "Battlefield 1," knowing how to make the most out of each and every map gives players a crucial advantage against less knowledgeable and experienced players.
In a new video, YouTuber Westie shows "Battlefield 1" players how to navigate the Argonne Forest map, which he says is the best map in all of "Battlefield 1."
Argonne Forest consists of three lanes and five major zones. According to Westie, the most open lane is the lower one in the east. The canyon lane to the west of the map is the most sheltered and is perfect for close-quarter weapons such as shotguns. The train track in the center of the map offers a balanced approach.
Westie notes that if a player is trying to take the bridge, there are long sight lines for snipers, which makes things difficult for players geared up for close-quarter combat. For this, a machine gun and a field gun will be handy. But if a player is a sniper, the position is perfect and a long scope is not necessary.
The best Elite kit in this map is said to be the Flame Trooper. This can be found under the Hellfire Junction bridge. The bunker offers a good sneak attack route, though a smart opponent will make sure that the exits are locked down.
Meanwhile, there are a bunch of tactics one can use to succeed in multiplayer mode.
Tech Radar suggests not sticking to one class throughout the game. The outlet says that gamers playing longer form matches should pay attention to the battle to learn which class is best for each situation. Players should also check to see how the rest of their squad is doing and adapt their class to suit the squad's needs.
Speaking of squads, Tech Radar notes that playing as a team is also a great way of building up XP. The squad leader can assign orders for the rest of the squad by pressing "R1" on the PS4 or "RB" on the Xbox One or "Q" on PCs. Every time an optional objective is met, the whole team earns XP.
GameSpot adds that the Scout class' Flare gun should be fired in an upward arc to ensure that it lands in the general area of the target. Firing the gun in this manner increases its area of coverage and the time it stays up in the air. Meanwhile, Support Class machine guns get more accurate the longer they are fired. GameSpot suggests firing these in long spreads from a prone position with a bipod deployed.
