'Batman: The Telltale Series' release date, news and updates: 'Guardian of Gotham' trailer released for chapter 4
"Batman: The Telltale Series" is already awaiting the fourth chapter in the franchise, and fans will be happy to know that a trailer has been released for chapter four, dubbed "Guardian of Gotham."
The fourth chapter looks like it will be taking Bruce Wayne to Arkham Asylum, and players have to decide between dangerous allies in the game — such as the crazed serial killer, the Joker — to get out of the Asylum and stop villains like Two-Face from putting Gotham City into the brink of chaos.
The official synopsis is as follows: "Penguin has taken control of Wayne Enterprises, and the Elizabeth Arkham Asylum for the Criminally Insane has a new guest - you - Bruce Wayne. With the Batman removed from the streets of Gotham City, Harvey Dent's forces and the Children of Arkham are at war, with innocent citizens caught in the crossfire. To escape the 'comforts' of your padded cell, you must choose allies to aid in your escape, even if they aren't the sort to put a smile on your face. How far are you willing to go for justice? For vengeance? What now, Dark Knight?"
The new trailer also offers a new look at Oz, which is the game's remixed version of the Penguin. Instead of the plump deformed villain in the comics and movies, this version of Penguin is a slimmed down, homeless Englishman who seems to be an old friend of Bruce Wayne.
The trailer also gives fans a first look at Joker in the series, and he looks very close to the version that fans are familiar with in "Batman: the Animated Series." Mark Hamill isn't providing the voice for the character, but "Batman" fans will instantly recognize the pale skin, green hair, devilish smile and maniacal laugh that the Clown Prince of Crime has been known for.
So far, fan reception of the Telltale version of "Batman" has been positive, and the game is expected to come out on Thursday, Nov. 22.
