"The Dark Knight Rises" pretty much closed the book on the Christopher Nolan Batman trilogy, but Anne Hathaway, who played Selina Kyle a.k.a. Catwoman in that movie, says that she's open to playing the character again if she ever got the chance.

In an interview with Variety, Hathaway opened up about her feelings toward the character. She said, "I loved that character and I had such a blast playing her." She then went on to talk about the possibility of her returning and how the door for that opportunity is probably shut. "I'm not sure how it would work because I think the Chris Nolan chapter of the Batman story has been wrapped up and I'm part of that, but I love the DC Universe and it would be fun to take a trip back," said Hathaway.

"The Dark Knight Rises" is considered to be the weakest film in the Nolan trilogy and Hathaway's portrayal of the famous cat burglar was anything but faithful to the comics. Nevertheless, fans of the movie still praised her performance of the role, and she is considered to be one of the more interesting elements of the film.

Hathaway, however, did not seem to be too possessive of the role. She did, after all, play the third modern incarnation of Catwoman — the other two being Michelle Pfeiffer and Halle Berry.

With the complete overhaul of the DC Universe from the Nolanverse, fans can expect "Batman" reboot director Ben Affleck to cast somebody else for the role of Selina Kyle.

According to BirthMoviesDeath.com, Affleck's solo "Batman" movie will be introducing a ton of villains from Batman's rogues gallery, and Catwoman may just be making her debut as well. Rumors are even saying that the movie may be inspired by the successful video game "Batman: Arkham Asylum," where the Caped Crusader gets locked up in Arkham with all the baddies trying to get to him at the same time.

So far, there is no official release date for Ben Affleck's solo "Batman" movie.
