'Avengers: Age of Ultron' Spoilers, Latest News: Poster Reveals Many Things
The official "Avengers: Age of Ultron" poster was released on Wednesday, exciting fans across the world as they eagerly await the release of the Avengers sequel in the big screen this summer.
The poster shows Captain America (played by Chris Evans), Iron Man (Robert Downey, Jr.), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), and Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) being surrounded by flying robots, which The Hollywood Reporter pointed out are not all "bad guys."
Vision (played by Paul Bettany) can also be seen hovering over the returning cast. The Hollywood Reporter described his pose as "obscured by the sun behind him, in a pose interestingly reminiscent of a well-known Superman comic."
Black Widow's outfit sports a new outfit, "complete with Tron-esque glowing lines," while Captain America's costume seem to have "bolder colors."
James Spader's Ultron, however, is missing in the poster, replaced by his army of drones.
Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver looked ready to fight alongside the superheroes, which is "not a surprise to comic book fans who recognize the characters as long-time Avengers," according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Other spoilers in the poster include the names of actors of returning characters from other Marvel movies, Entertainment Weekly observed.
At the credits at the bottom of the poster, names from previous Marvel movies can be seen: Anthony Mackie (Sam Wilson/The Falcon), Idris Elba (Heimdall), Stellan Skarsgård (Dr. Eric Selvig), and Hayley Atwell (Peggy Carter), Entertainment Weekly noted.
"That last one is a big surprise—although it'll probably be a flashback, since The Winter Soldier showed us Atwell's Agent Carter as an elderly woman in a nursing home. But the fact that her name is listed means we can probably expect some new footage and not just old clips," EW said.
"Avengers: Age of Ultron" will be screened in theaters nationwide and in many parts of the world starting on May 1 this year.
