'Attack on Titan' game release: 3DS game 'Escape from Certain Death' announced
The release of "Attack on Titan: Escape from Certain Death," a Nintendo 3DS exclusive based on the hit manga series of the same name by Hajime Isayama, has been announced by Famitsu.
Game studio Ruby Party, the company behind the "Neo Romance" series and one that frequently collaborates with Koei Tecmo, will be in charge of the game. The team behind the visuals of "Attack on Titan" anime will also be helping out.
Last week, it was revealed that around 30 percent of "Attack on Titan: Escape from Certain Death" is complete and that the studios are hard at work to complete it.
So far, the only information about the game is that it follows Mikasa or Levi in a mission set in an old castle and takes place in a time before the Female Titan wreaks havoc.
As the title of the game implies, it will challenge players to get out of the ancient castle in one piece after their equipment goes missing.
As the story in "Attack on Titan: Escape from Certain Death," players will be able to work with more characters from the manga and anime. An overview of the story as per Gematsu is as follows:
"While investigating the outskirts of a certain old castle, the Survey Corps are caught in a Titan assault. The ground collapses amid the chaos, and the protagonist ends up falling into an underground part of the old castle. Just narrowly escaping death, the protagonist cannot return to the surface as their Three Dimensional Maneuver Gear has broken. The protagonist links up with a single "partner" and attempts to escape the castle underground shrouded in mystery, but...?"
A release date for "Attack on Titan: Escape from Certain Death" is yet to be announced, but with the game in active development, fans will learn more details about it in the months to come.
