Assassin's Creed Unity, Rogue Release Date: November 2014 for PS3 and Xbox 360
Ubisoft has announced that Assassin's Creed Rogue is to be released on November 11, 2014 and November 13, 2014 (for EMEA territories) for the PS3 and Xbox 360. It will be the 8th installment of the Assassin's Creed Series. Assassin's Creed Unity has the same release date but it will be available for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
Breathecast reported that Ubisoft has been two weeks delayed from their initial release, but the company explained that "along with big ambition - and even bigger promises - comes a lot of heavy lifting."
Vincent Pontbriand, Senior Producer, also explained the initial delay. "This being a fully next-gen game, it requires a lot of work, a lot of production, and a lot of learning. It's always hard to be precise and to quantify exactly how much work is involved. So as we get close to the finish we often realize we're near the target but we're not quite there yet," he said.
"AC is a huge open-world game. We have thousands of NPCs on screen. We have more depth in the types of AI we've built. The graphics are spectacular. The processes are way more complex. Which makes it exponentially harder to grasp everything than it was in the previous generation." he further added.
Assassin's Creed Rogue is a historical action-adventure game. According to Wikipedia, "The story is set in the mid-18th century during the Seven Years' War, and follows Shay Cormac, an Assassin-turned-Templar. Gameplay in Rogue will be similar to that of Black Flag with a mixture of ship-based naval exploration and third-person land-based exploration."
The game retains the series' third person open world exploration as well as introducing an improved melee combat and stealth system.
Assassin's Creed Unity introduces cooperative multiplayer to the Assassin's Creed series, letting up to four players engage in narrative-driven missions and explore the open-world map.
