'Arrow' season 5 release date and updates: New set photos show Wild Dog, Artemis and Mr. Terrific
The next season of The CW's "Arrow" has more heroes teaming up with Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) in his fight against crime. New set photos have surfaced of Mr. Terrific (Echo Kellum), Artemis (Madison McLaughlin) and Wild Dog (Rick Gonzalez).
The images were posted via Twitter by PUNKD Images, and they feature the Green Arrow surrounded by his new allies.
Fans can remember Artemis from Cartoon Network's "Young Justice" as the female archer who took over as Green Arrow's sidekick after Speedy took off. Artemis is actually the child of villains Sportsmaster and Huntress; she was trained from a young age in order to take over for her father but plans changed. The Green Arrow and Batman created the story that she is the Green Arrow's niece in order to hide her criminal parentage.
Wild Dog aka Jack Wheeler is a newer vigilante in Star City. Unlike the other heroes, his costume consists of regular everyday items. Wild Dog is known to be more violent in the comics as he kills criminals. He wears a local football jersey to hide his protective armor and his identity is concealed by a simple hockey mask. He is one of the more reckless heroes in the bunch, which is why Green Arrow decided to take him under his wing.
Finally fans get to see Curtis Holt as Mr. Terrific in costume. Mr. Terrific is known to be highly intelligent and makes use of his self-invented "T-Spheres" when it comes to fighting crime. On the side of his jacket are the words "Fair Play," and Mr. Terrific is considered to be the third smartest man on Earth, or at least in the DC Universe.
With three new heroes joining him in the fray, Oliver Queen just got a whole new advantage on his war against crime.
"Arrow" season 5 premieres on Wednesday, Oct. 5, at 8 p.m. EDT on The CW.
