Ariana Grande Honeymoon Tour 2015 News: Sellout Crowd In Back-to-Back Madison Square Garden Concerts
Ariana Grande, pop music's biggest breakout star of the year, performed back-to-back sold-out concerts at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Friday and Saturday nights. Her Friday night's performance was the first major concert for the 21-year-old singing sensation.
The concerts, part of her "Honeymoon Tour," filled the Garden with a sea of teenage girls, which meant less risqué songs for her to perform.
Grande, who until 2013 was part of the "Sam & Cat" show on Nickelodeon where she played the character Cat Valentine, showed in her concerts that she had left those years firmly behind her.
However, there were tons of cat ears in the audience and on stage when she performed. Some of the cat's ears worn by the audience were homemade and were crafted from various materials including lace and pearls, but others sold at $40 a piece.
Grande also wore the Mi.Mu Glove which was developed by the British singer and designer Imogen Heap. The first time she used it was during the song "Why Try" and the glove malfunctioned and distorted her voice. This did not seem to stop Grande from using it again when she sang "My Everything" and it again went haywire.
During the song Grande cried on stage, but it wasn't the only occasion as she shed tears many times during the show including when she performed her single "The Way," which was released in 2013.
Grande kicked off her performance off with "Bang Bang" which featured fireworks and lasers. When she performed "Love Me Harder" and "Tattooed Heart," Grande did not stint from showing her wonderful voice.
The "Honeymoon Tour" started on Feb. 25 in Kansas City, Missouri, and is currently travelling across the United States. It is due to head overseas in May. The tour follows the release of two albums by Grande. The first was titled "Yours Truly" which debuted in 2013. This was followed by her "My Everything" album last year.
