'American Horror Story: Hotel' Season 5 Cast News: Chloe Sevigny Returning as Regular
The "American Horror Story" definitely failed to scare Chloe Sevigny, who just agreed to return to the horror series' fifth season on FX.
Sevigny has been cast as a series regular in a currently unknown role in the horror series' new installment titled "Hotel," according to the Entertainment Weekly.
In his official Twitter account, series co-creator Ryan Murphy confirmed that Sevigny will return after her short stint as Shelley in the show's second season titled "Asylum."
"Very excited to announce that Chloe Sevigny returns to the AHS family as a series regular on "AHS: Hotel," Murphy posted a tweet, according to EW.
In addition to the American Horror Story franchise, Murphy has created "Glee," "Nip/Tuck" and the upcoming anthology series, "American Crime Story."
Sevigny played a diagnosed nymphomaniac during the series' last season, eventually having her legs amputated by an evil doctor in the show's second iteration of the FX anthology.
Shelley was killed by a priest in the end so that her torturous experience wouldn't become public.
With this casting, the 40-year-old actress will be joining a cast in the show's new season that includes Lady Gaga, Matt Bomer, Wes Bentley, and Cheyenne Jackson.
The series marks the first season in the franchise without mainstay Jessica Lange
Sevigny has appeared regularly in movies and on television since her acting debut in the critically acclaimed independent movie "Kids" in 1995, according to the Daily Mail.
The actress continued to take roles in independent and mainstream movies over the next several years like "The Last Days of Disco," "American Psycho," and "Zodiac" among others.
After the end of her long-running role on HBO's "Big Love," she has had recurring roles on "Portlandia," "The Mindy Project," and Netflix's new series, "Bloodlines."
Chloe also starred in the short-lived crime series "Those Who Kill" in 2014 and Whit Stillman's Amazon pilot "The Cosmopolitans."
