'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' season 4 news: Gabriel Luna explains why Ghost Rider did not kill Daisy

The showrunners of "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." were planning on bringing something new to the show when they brought in Gabriel Luna to play Robbie Reyes aka Ghost Rider. The Spirit of Vengeance is known to take no prisoners and he kills the villains who cross his path. The season premiere saw him running into Daisy/Quake (Chloe Bennet), but some are confused on why the Rider chose to spare her. Luna then explains why.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Luna talked about his character's decision to make Daisy live. He says, "He saw a penitent woman. He looked into her eyes and saw a woman who is obviously trying to atone for something, but it's definitely nothing that she did. The Rider has the ability to see through and into the bones of someone — into their heart and their soul. He sees a woman trying to be good."

Luna also said that the Ghost Rider's mission is simple: seek and eliminate the sinner. He also said that the character of Robbie Reyes is not the one in control of the Rider, and that once it takes over a person, it takes over him completely,

Luna was not the only one to comment on the relationship between Ghost Rider and Quake. Chloe Bennet also took the time to comment on the character dynamic of the two. She said, "They both have certain things in common, so I think they're going to both be intrigued with one another pretty early on in terms of how they operate." She also went on to describe the two characters as loners who are good people at the end of the day, and it looks like an alliance between the two may be happening someday down the road.

Luna, however, did not want to call the two a "team." He said that Quake and Ghost Rider are merely "seeking the same thing."

Reception on the new Ghost Rider has been positive so far, and fans are interested to see just where the Spirit of Vengeance takes the show.
