'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' season 4 air date and rumors: Ghost Rider to get his own series?
A lot of fans have been happy with Gabriel Luna's Ghost Rider ever since he debuted in the fourth season of "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.," and Luna himself has hinted of a possibility that his version of the Spirit of Vengeance may be getting a solo series somewhere down the road.
In an interview with IGN, Luna said that there have already been talks about having a "Ghost Rider" spin-off series. He said, "You know, there's been rumblings about that. It depends on how much you love it. If you love it, we'll make it."
Fans were initially unsure about introducing the character Robbie Reyes to the show. Aside from the fact that the Johnny Blaze and Danny Ketch versions of Ghost Rider were more popular, fans also thought that a TV series would cut back on the budget for special effects and they would be left with a very lackluster Rider.
So far, reception of Luna's character has been met with praise and perhaps it's only a matter of time before the higher-ups in ABC give him his own series. The same thing happened with Netflix's version of the Punisher (Jon Bernthal).
Punisher aka Frank Castle debuted in the second season of "Daredevil." Bernthal's portrayal was so well-received that he was immediately given his own series, which has reportedly already begun with production.
The Marvel TV Universe has been known to add more grit to the Marvel Cinematic World, and with the way things are going, there could be no Marvel TV series left for the younger audiences.
Ghost Rider was introduced to make "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." darker and the Netflix series has been chock-full of sex, drugs and violence. With the cancellation of "Agent Carter," fans wonder if the kid-friendly properties that Marvel has only be manifested in the movies.
"Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." season four is currently airing on Tuesdays at 10 p.m. EDT on ABC.
