Samsung Galaxy C5 Pro release date, specs rumors: Device receives TENAA and Wi-Fi certification
The Samsung Galaxy C5 Pro recently received its certification from both TENAA, China's regulatory agency, and the Wi-Fi Alliance. The upcoming device, with the model number SM-C5010, has already been spotted several times online suggesting that it is well on its way to being introduced in the market in January 2017.
According to reports, the Samsung Galaxy C5 Pro will feature a 5.2-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The screen will have a Gorilla Glass panel on top for added protection. In terms of dimensions, the forthcoming device is 145.7 x 71.4 x 6.95 mm. Based on the photos from the TENNA listing, it will also feature a sleek, all-metal chassis.
The successor to the Galaxy C5 smartphone is said to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 processor with 4 GB random access memory (RAM) and 64 GB internal memory. It also reportedly features a 16-megapixel lens on both the rear and front camera.
The upcoming device will be coming with a 3,000 mAh battery. While it will run the older Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system, an upgrade to Android 7.0 Nougat is expected down the line. Connectivity-wise, there is 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 and Bluetooth 4.2.
The Samsung Galaxy C5 Pro is expected to launch alongside the Galaxy C7 Pro, which has also been spotted online several times. According to reports, the Galaxy C7 Pro comes with very similar specs but has a larger display at 5.7 inches and a higher capacity battery at 3,300 mAh. Both devices are also expected to come with a fingerprint sensor and have dual-SIM capability.
The Samsung Galaxy C5 Pro and Galaxy C7 Pro were both expected to arrive this month but the latest reports suggest that they will now be unveiled on Jan. 21, 2017. It will initially launch in the Chinese and South Korean markets.
