After previous failed attempts, "Pokemon Sun and Moon" players finally managed to complete a global mission.

Launched in November 2016, the game's event centered on the Global Trading System, which requires players all over the world to reach a certain target. Despite the hype from the game's first global mission, players failed to complete the mission of catching 100 million Pokemon during the event.

After a few months, the game held another round of the event, and unfortunately, the numbers weren't different. Since many had believed that the third event will fail again, "Pokemon Sun and Moon" players proved that winning it is possible by successfully completing this week's third global mission.

According to reports, the mission required players to use the Global Trade System to trade up to one million Pokemon within two weeks. Players were determined to prevent a three-peat loss, so the gaming community spurred into action and completed the task in a span of just four days. As a result, gamers were rewarded with 2,000 Festival Coins that can be used to buy items in the Festival Plaza mini-game feature.

The game's rewards don't end there, as players are also given an extra milestone to achieve. If players can trade over 2 million Pokemon before Feb. 14, players who participate in the mission will receive a Friend Ball.

In other related news, almost 6,000 "Pokemon Sun and Moon" accounts were recently banned for using altered save data. While the hack ban has put a dent in the game's image for some, the Pokemon Company assured fans that they will implement additional rules and restrictions to stop attempts of cheating in the future. Players believe that the first completed global mission might just be the good news needed by the game to earn more positive feedback from the gaming community.
