One of the most-talked-about specs of Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is the new Surface Pen, which is said to have wireless features. It is speculated that the Pen will come out alongside the Pro 5.

Both the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 and the Surface Pen are expected to be launched in March. The company has already introduced the next-generation Surface Pro back in October last year and it was expected that the device will come out soon after its announcement. However, enthusiasts just got disappointed with the lack of news regarding the availability of Pro 5.

Microsoft Surface Pro 5 may be installed with the seventh-generation Kaby Lake processor and may come out with three variants. The first one is the base model with Core M (dual core) and the other one has Core i5 (dual-core with two threads). There is another premium variant that has Core i7, quad-core with eight threads. Aside from these, Pro 5 is rumored to have longer battery life than the predecessors.

As for the display, Pro 5 is believed to have a 12.5-inch screen that is capable of 4K support. It will also have a 3D support at 60 fps. The company may also offer the much-talked about super active-matrix organic light-emitting diode (AMOLED) screen as a replacement for the touch screen.

Alongside Pro 5 is the Surface Pen, which is rumored to have its own rechargeable battery, and can be charged wirelessly by placing it on a dock. This is said to be the wireless technology that the pen will boast as the dock does not necessitate using wires.

A patent has circulated through different tech websites, hinting at the charging dock of the Surface Pen. It also has a port for charging, which means that it can be directly charged in a device. However, it is reported that the Surface Pen can only function with the latest Microsoft gadget and with the Surface Pro 5.
