Ronda Rousey UFC news: Rousey's media blackout continues

Aside from Conor McGregor, the most popular mixed martial artist right now has to be Rondo Rousey. But despite her popularity, Rousey has never been comfortable when the spotlight is on her. She doesn't like being surrounded by media personnel asking dozens of questions, and things got worse after her loss to Holly Holm last year.

Media obligations can sometimes distract a fighter who is trying to get into the zone before a fight, so Rousey decided to do something about it before she signed for her next fight.

According to ESPN's Ramona Shelburne, Rousey managed to reach an agreement with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) brass to "limit her publicity to a few high-profile interviews with people of her choosing" before she signed on to fight bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes in UFC 207.

Aside from that, all she had to do was allow the UFC to film her at the gym in Glendale for one day, and do a stare down with Nunes at UFC 205. So, while Nunes is busy promoting the fight, Rousey is nowhere to be seen.

Nunes isn't thrilled, though, and she's not afraid to speak her mind and criticize Rousey.

"Yeah I think she's been very weird about everything. This is MMA, people are going to talk good about you, people are going to talk bad about you. You have to be ready for it," Nunes told FOX Sports. "You guys (the media), you're part of our lives, part of our careers. We have to talk and speak to the media because this is part of our job. She's being so dramatic and weird about that. She knows this is normal," she added.

Nunes may think that Rousey is acting strange, but she is not going to underestimate Rousey before their fight. She had better do so because Rowdy Ronda Rousey is coming for her bantamweight belt.
