Ronda Rousey has rarely been seen in public since her 48-second knockout loss to Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) women's bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes at UFC 207, and the mixed martial arts (MMA) world is still waiting for her to announce whether she will continue on or retire. So far, she hasn't given any hints regarding her future plans, but that may change soon.

UFC president Dan White appeared on FOX Sport's "The Herd" last week, and he told host Colin Cowherd that he has exchanged texts with Rousey recently. They still haven't discussed anything, but White said they would talk about her plans soon.

Even before she stepped inside the cage, people have already been questioning her mental toughness heading into the fight. Did she ask for the fight or did the UFC force her to take it?

During the interview, White revealed that Rousey wanted to face Nunes and he said she was ready for her opponent. "She trained hard for that fight. She wanted that fight and she was mentally and physically ready for that fight but she knows what happened, I don't," he stated (transcribed by FOX Sports).

People may have criticized or even ridiculed Rousey's standup skills, but White reminded fans that Nunes has always been a feared striker.

"I'll tell you what of all the people that were actually defending Ronda Rousey, one of the biggest ones was Miesha Tate. Miesha Tate said 'let me tell you what, say what you want about Ronda Rousey, Amanda Nunes hits like a truck'. (Miesha) fought (Nunes) first. (Nunes) beat two back-to-back legends."

Nunes' striking skills is light years ahead of Rousey's right now, but boxing pound-for-pound great Floyd Mayweather Jr. said he was willing to work with the bantamweight champion to help her improve her standup game. "I'll work with her if she's willing to work with me," he told TMZ.
