NY Giants NFL News 2014: Atlanta Falcons Week 5 Game Preview

null

This Sunday's game between the New York Giants and the Atlanta Falcons at MetLife Stadium seems to be a game of apples to apples as both teams shared unfortunate seasons last 2013, and are both at a crossroads at which direction they go this season.

A win would increase the Giant's record to 3-2 and could spur them on to really make some progress as the season moves towards the middle half. The game could also potentially be the first game for the Giant's 2014 first-round draft pick, wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., who has been unable to play in the previous games due to his hamstring injury last spring.

Beckham Jr. was said to have attended his team's meetings and practices all week. Although Art Staples posted on Twitter last Saturday that 'Beckham, Beason and Kennard will be listed as questionable,' Giants fans are still not ready to let go of the possibility that Beckham might show up and play in Week 5, as he hinted during his conversation with the New York Daily News.

Meanwhile, Yard Barker lists Devin Henster as one of the players that the Giants need to shut down as he is considered to be the most dangerous punt returner in the game.

Matt Ryan is also cited as one to look forward to as Ryan's been putting up some impressive numbers as a quarterback. They would definitely have to add Julio Jones and Roddy White on their list of players to cover, as they have played a huge role in the Falcons offense.

Last but not the least would be Jake Matthews who was pegged to protect Ryan's blindside.

With both teams fighting to get to a winning record, there is much at stake today and this should be a great match up.
