The Miami Heat are going nowhere this season and changes are clearly in order when a team like the Philadelphia 76ers have a better record. When ESPN's Zach Lowe reported that wholesale changes were on the way and the entire team was on the trading block, a number of teams probably picked up their phone to inquire about center Hassan Whiteside. However, a number of publications based in Florida have reported that a Heat spokesman told them the team isn't actively shopping their center.

Now before Whiteside fans in Miami breathe a sigh of relief, the Miami Herald and the Palm Beach Post said the Heat may not be looking for a trade partner for Whiteside, but they are still listening to offers.

Whiteside doesn't seem to be bothered by the rumors. Before the Heat played the Golden State Warriors last Tuesday, the center talked about the trade rumors and he said he's not paying them any attention.

"If I pay attention to it, I wouldn't be back in the league. There's all kind of rumors. A lot of people said of lot of things to keep me from being back in the league," he said. "Nothing really changes for me. Just come in, rebound and dominate like I've been doing. It's not really a change," he added.

Lowe opened the floodgates for trade rumors to pour forth when he said everyone on the Heat team was available on his "The Lowe Post" podcast. "Up and down the roster, literally every player. Literally no one is untouchable, not even Hassan Whiteside, by a long shot," he said (transcribed by ESPN).

Whiteside is a special player. He's a rebounding machine and he is also one of the best shot blockers in the league. Right now, the Heat are not actively looking to trade their center, but who knows what will happen if someone gives them an offer they can't refuse.
