Following a tragic skiing accident in 2013, Michael Schumacher is still recovering from severe injuries that almost cost him his life. Despite the lack of updates from his family, a new official Michael Schumacher Facebook page has gone live, sparking hopes that the F1 legend's health is already improving.

Members of Schumacher's family have observed a media blackout while the racing icon recuperates at his Geneva home with the help of medical experts. The new Facebook page for Schumacher — which already has almost 1.5 million likes — has been set up to celebrate the F1 racer's victories since he started a career in Formula One.

"From November 13 this page will be our meeting place to collect and exchange memories and to celebrate Michael's many achievements, established as a thank you gesture to all you wonderful fans," a post from the page reads.

On another note, the last known update given by someone close to Schumacher was from former Mercedes F1 racing boss Ross Brawn. As one of the few individuals who are still allowed into Schumacher's inner circle, Brawn was quoted saying the Ferrari driver has shown "encouraging signs." The F1 exec also mentioned that he still visits Schumacher and he continues to pray for his fast recovery.

However, recent reports say that Brawn is now retracting some of his previous statements about the seven-time racing champion's health. "I was quoted as saying he's improving, and it was not what I really meant," he said. "The family are conducting his convalescence in private, and I need to respect that. So I don't want to comment on his condition beyond saying we're extremely hopeful we'll see Michael as we knew him at some point in the future."
