Michael Schumacher Latest Condition Update News: '£100,000 a week for 24-Hour Medical Team'
Michael Shcumacher, the former Formula One superstar, is reportedly being taken care of a 15-man 24-hour medical team in his very own mansion. Rumor has it that the estimated cost is at 100,000 pounds per week for the medical equipment as well as for the wage of the medical personnel.
Schumacher recently left the Lausanne Rehabilitation Clinic where he stayed for 95 days after being transferred from the University Hospital of Grenoble. He is suffering from severe head injuries after an accident that happened while spending a ski holiday with his wife.
He met the unfortunate accident December 29 of last year and stayed at the University Hospital of Grenoble for 159 days—a total of 254 days since the accident.
Schumacher remains paralyzed until now, with only intermittent movements from his eyes. Experts call this "minimal consciousness", which is a phase of a "coma awakening".
Manfred Spitzer, medical director of a hospital in Germany that specializes the brain, said in an Interview with the BILD Newspaper, "I do not know the condition of Michael Schumacher, but if it is stable, then the familiar surroundings of his home can certainly help for now. Such emotional stimulation is very important for patients who have suffered a severe brain trauma."
In other news, Michael's father, Rolf, is reportedly moving from his house in Germany to be near his son, daughter-in-law Corinna and grandchildren Gina Maria, 17 and Mick, 15.
