Miami Heat News, Rumors 2014: LeBron James at The Cleveland Cavaliers
Much of the recent media focus on the Miami Heat revolved around its preseason game against the Cleveland Cavaliers. The game was important to many, as it was the first game between the teams after LeBron James left Heat to return to the Cavaliers.
The game which took place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil saw the Cavaliers prevailing over the Heat. Among the Heat's players Cleveland.com reports that several appeared to have moved on and were focusing on the game and themselves. As for the game itself, LeBron James's performance fizzled as he was not able to make much impact, though his assists consisted of passes to Kevin Love who scored 25 points.
Off the court, The New York Times noted it was Chris Bosh's statement that he had not spoken with James, since he left Miami Heat in July that first triggered rumors of a rift, even though after he clarified his remarks by stating that he had spoken to James at Wade's wedding which took place recently. As for the chat that tensions would boil over between James, Dwyane Wade, and Bosh, Cleveland.com notes that it didn't take place but the customary pregame hugs and slaps were exchanged between the Big Three. Before the game Heat's players tried to downplay the drama surrounding the game. Bosh stated to ESPN, "We're both trying to win, he's against us. I want people to understand I'm a competitor, and he's on the other team. "
