Manny Pacquiao vs Floyd Mayweather Fight News 2015: No Bad Blood Shown in L.A. Press Conference

After putting boxing fans through an interminable wait, Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather, Jr. finally announced "officially" at a press conference in the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles this Wednesday that their big fight would go ahead on May 2. With a of $250 million purse at stake, the fight is already being billed as the "biggest" in terms of prize money.

In the press conference, the fighters arrived on the red carpet and were presented to nearly 700 members of the media. The event was only the second time the fighters met face to face in public. They previously met by chance when they turned up to watch an NBA basketball game in Miami. Reports said that first encounter which took place in January led to them meeting a few hours later in a hotel room to discuss the terms of the fight.

During the press conference it seemed all the bad blood between the two fighters had finally been overlooked. It was the only news conference with both fighters until the one that will be held just days before the fight.

As for the two fighters, there isn't any doubt that they are currently the most popular in the sport and the best in their weight division. The 38-year-old Mayweather is going into the fight with an immaculate 47-0 win-loss record with 26 knockouts while the 36-year-old Pacquiao has 57 wins under his belt, with 36 with knockouts, on top of five losses and two draws.

During the press conference, Pacquiao described how they were training hard and were going to do their best on the day of the fight to make the audience happy. As for Mayweather, he said the fight would have "the best fighting the best."
