Jeremy Lin offers a promising fresh start as Brooklyn Nets prepare for the 2016–17 season. The question looming on everyone's mind is whether the Asian-American point guard will bring back to the Empire State the same gameplay which created the "Linsanity" hype.

Since signing with the Nets in the free agent season, New York was once again caught in a basketball media interest with New Yorkers wondering whether he could prove his worth on the hardcourt once more. With the Asian-American community paying closely to his performance, Lin looks pretty much fired up for the next season.

Basketball-crazed fans are now hoping for the revival of Lin's breakout season performance four years ago when he was still playing for the New York Knicks. In his phenomenal February 2012 performance, he posted an average of 24 points, nine assists and four rebounds a night for 10 games straight, basketball blog Nothing But Nets reported.

As Brooklyn rebuilds its roster, Lin plays a rather special role with added responsibility on his shoulders as expectations run high. He will eventually have to share that leadership role with center Brook Lopez.

Meanwhile, basketball pundits are raising the expectations bar even higher. After landing a three-year contract worth $36 million deal with the Nets, he is expected to go full throttle as he readies himself for the finest years in the National Basketball Association.

As reported by Sportige, he is expected to post an average of roughly 18 points and 8 assists per game. If he manages to do so, it will put him in the league with Chris Paul of the Los Angeles Clippers, John Wall of the Washington Wizards and Russell Westbrook of the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Hopes are indeed running high for Brooklyn. Some observers think that Nets may have gotten a good catch this offseason. Croatian national Bojan Bogdanovic, the Nets Wingman who leads his national team in the Rio Olympics, overwhelmed Brazil—marking their team's second victory in the Olympics according to Sportsrageous. With 24.7 points per game so far in Rio, Bogdanovic alongside Lin and Lopez could make Brooklyn a little more optimistic once the next season starts.
