Conor McGregor is arguably the most popular mixed martial artist on the planet right now. He has made the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) a lot of money this year alone and he has also pulled a lot of casual fans into the sport. Well, McGregor knows how much the UFC needed him, so he decided to push the envelope and demand an ownership stake in the UFC after his UFC 205 title fight with Eddie Alvarez. Earlier this month, he even said that he expects new UFC owners Ari Emanuel and Patrick Whitesell to fly to Ireland to talk to him.

Well, former UFC fighter Chael Sonnen is definitely not a fan of McGregor's attitude. He blasted the UFC lightweight champion on his latest podcast (transcribed by Bloody Elbow), and he said the demands McGregor made were ridiculous.

"Man, pick up a phone and send a text message. At some point, there's only 24-hours in a day, no matter who you are. Dana and Ari Emanuel are in Russia right now, meeting with leaders of the Kremlin. They are running business and moving this thing forward. Is everything supposed to stop so they can talk to a fighter?" said Sonnen.

Those are some harsh words from Sonnen. The Notorious may have gained a lot of fans thanks to his fighting style, but current UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo believes that McGregor is ducking him. In an interview with MMA Fighting's Ariel Helwani, Aldo talked about how he tried to get a rematch after their fight, but he said McGregor doesn't want to face him.

"Conor is two-faced and he doesn't want to fight me. He wants to talk a big game to the press. He doesn't to step up and take the fights to prove he's a real champion," he stated.

Aldo better get in line because Khabib Nurmagomedov also wants a piece of McGregor if he wins against Tony Ferguson. Nurmagomedov's ground game is simply extraordinary and he can definitely beat McGregor if the fight ever goes to the ground. Of course, the problem is: every fight starts on one's feet, not on the ground. If Nurmagomedov wants to beat McGregor, he has to take him to the mat, and that's easier said than done.
